Terms of Service

These are the terms you agree to when you use DAVEtube. We have tried to write them in plain English rather than hide behind length.

1. Who these are with

DAVEtube is provided by AJ House ("we", "us"). By installing or using DAVEtube you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

2. What you get

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use DAVEtube on computers you control, for as long as your licence is valid. You may not resell it, rent it out, or pass your licence to someone else without our written agreement.

You may not decompile, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source of DAVEtube, except where the law expressly allows it regardless of what a contract says.

3. Your footage is yours

You keep every right you already had in the video, photos, music and text you put into DAVEtube, and in the videos that come out of it. We claim no ownership over any of it and no licence to use it.

You are responsible for having the right to use what you put in — that includes music, other people's footage, trademarks and anyone who appears on camera.

4. Using it properly

You agree not to use DAVEtube to make or publish anything that:

• breaks the law, or infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
• harasses, defames or endangers anyone;
• sexualises or endangers children in any way;
• is designed to deceive people about who made it or what it shows.

Where DAVEtube publishes to YouTube on your instruction, you are also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and YouTube's community guidelines. Breaking those is between you and YouTube, but it also breaks these terms.

5. Your Google account

Connecting your YouTube account is optional. If you connect it, you are authorising DAVEtube to act on your channel in the specific ways set out in our Privacy Policy — and nothing is ever published without your explicit approval of that video. You can withdraw that authorisation at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

6. Paid features and credits

Some features use third-party AI services that cost money to run. Those are clearly marked, opt-in, and consume credits. Credits are not money, have no cash value, and are not refundable once spent. We will always tell you before a feature spends anything.

The core of DAVEtube — editing and rendering your own footage on your own machine — does not consume credits and does not call any paid service.

7. Availability

DAVEtube is software you run yourself, so it does not depend on us being online. Features that talk to YouTube or to AI providers do depend on those services, and we cannot promise they will always be available or unchanged.

8. No warranty

DAVEtube is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be free of faults, that it will suit a particular purpose, or that a render will come out exactly as you pictured it. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

9. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or lost time arising from your use of DAVEtube, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Ending it

You can stop using DAVEtube whenever you like. We may end your licence if you materially break these terms — we will tell you why, and give you a chance to put it right where that is reasonable.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and if a change materially affects you we will tell you rather than quietly editing the page.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
