Privacy Policy

Short version: DAVEtube runs on your own computer. Your footage stays there. We do not sell anything about you, and we do not track you on this website.
1. Who we are
DAVEtube is made by AJ House ("we", "us"). For anything in this policy, write to privacy@davetube.com.
2. Where DAVEtube runs
DAVEtube is desktop software. It is installed on your own computer and it does the editing and rendering there. It reads video, photos and music from a folder you choose and points it at. It does not move, rename or delete anything in that folder.
In its standard local mode, none of your media leaves your machine.
3. This website
These pages are static. No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising. If you email us, we keep the email so we can reply to you.
4. Connecting your YouTube account
DAVEtube can connect to YouTube so it can publish the videos you approve and show you how they are doing. This is optional — DAVEtube edits and renders perfectly well without ever connecting.
When you connect, Google asks your permission for the following. Here is what each one is actually for:

Where the keys are kept
The access token Google issues is stored in a file on your own computer. It is not sent to us and we do not hold a copy. Anyone with access to your computer could use it, so treat that machine as you would treat your logged-in browser.
Taking the permission away
You can disconnect DAVEtube from your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Deleting the token file on your computer also ends DAVEtube's access.
Limited Use
DAVEtube's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use this data only to provide the features described above. We do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide those features, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it except with your explicit permission, for security purposes, to comply with the law, or where the data has been aggregated and made anonymous.
DAVEtube uses YouTube API Services. By using those features you are also agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's own Privacy Policy applies to how Google handles your data.
5. Optional AI features
Some paid features send information to third-party AI providers to do their work — for example, generating an image for a scene. When you use one of those features, the material that feature needs is sent to that provider, and their own privacy terms then apply to it.
These features are opt-in and clearly marked. If you never use them, nothing is ever sent.
6. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
- We do not build advertising profiles.
- We do not upload your source footage to our servers.
- We do not publish anything to your channel without your explicit approval of that video.
7. Keeping things, and getting rid of them
Because DAVEtube runs on your computer, you hold your own data and you delete it by deleting the files. Anything you send us by email, we keep only as long as we need it to deal with what you asked.
8. Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EU you have rights over personal data we hold about you — to see it, correct it, have it deleted, or object to how it is used. In practice we hold very little: your email if you have written to us. Ask us at privacy@davetube.com and we will deal with it. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
9. Children
DAVEtube is not intended for people under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects how your data is handled, we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing the page.
